Mountain runoff cuts a long and steep gorge leading into the desert, accessible to wolves only by trudging through the wasteland. The relatively deep water flows rapidly north to feed the main rivers of the valley as well as Adder Creek. There are walkable paths and alcoves within the gorge walls that provide relief from the elements, but walls grow higher and the paths grow more treacherous the closer to the mountain one goes.
