|| Leaving his most recent actions a bit vague since he’s still in a thread. Just wanted to finally get him back home :P ||
He was finally back. Even though he wasn’t really gone longer than a handful of days at most, but it had felt like an eternity. Originally, his first intention was to make a beeline straight for his den and sleep for days. But as soon as he set paw upon the base of the rise, he suddenly felt like wandering somewhere else. Like through pack territory in an attempt to actually mingle with his packmates and, perhaps, stumble upon old friends. Their scents had been around, after all.
It was rainy now, but Poet didn’t care. The past few days saw to it that he became constantly drenched with mud and water, so a light rainfall wasn’t going to make any difference.
Heading east past the rise, he started to hear sounds of rushing water that piqued his interest. Had there always been a river running near the territory? It was so harsh sounding that it made him think it could possibly be a waterfall rather than a river.
He picked up his pace through the trees, carefully placing his footsteps around upturned roots and such. Though he still limped from his slowly healing shoulder wound, he managed to take himself through the forest in a timely fashion and - almost literally - poured himself out into the water once he broke the treeline on the other side. The current looked strong and held multiple rapids on display, indicating to him that it was either shallow water or many large rocks hid underneath.
With a newfound sense of caution, he broke his speed right at the water’s edge and came to a complete stop. Blue eyes peered down the river and head turned to peer up the opposite direction curiously. Had this really always been here? It was well concealed by the trees, but how had he never stumbled upon it before?
Poet stood there like an idiot, staring at the water like he’d never actually seen water before.
