It had been ages since she’d set foot on the meadow. The place was undeniably beautiful, with flowers and herbs abundant in numbers. However.. it had one flaw; Altair. The boy’s scent still clung heavy in the air, which meant that he was certainly here.. somewhere. Other scents were present, of course, but his was by far the strongest.
Kamaal had set off for the river as promised. To her knowledge, the only place someone had a chance of coming across a willow tree was the hollow and given that she’d come across such a tree once before in the area, she’d be a fool not to make a beeline right for the place where she’d first met Grigore about a year ago.
She’d been in this goddamn valley for a whole fucking year.
Was this how she was going to spend the rest of her days? Roaming within the confines of the same damn place?
The thought was pushed back, her mind not daring to linger on it much longer. She had to keep reminding herself that she was doing this for Skuld—and kinda herself as well, ‘cause willow bark would be beneficial for everyone, honestly. The pups had been informed as usual; she’d told them she’d be gone for a couple of days, but by now, they were probably already aware of this.
They knew she’d always come back no matter what.
