Jacqueline had slept surprisingly well during her first night in the caverns. She’d rather enjoyed having walls around her while she slept; they shielded her from the chilly night air. She’d never considered it before, but it was also nice not to have to sleep on damp soil for the first time in what felt like ages.
The ebony woman rolled onto her side after waking up. She didn’t feel tired after a good night’s sleep, but she didn’t have it in her to wake up just yet. But then… She thought back to her tale from yesterday. Lucienne, who’d seen so much hardship in her life, probably wouldn’t find herself sleeping in, and especially not on such an important day.
So, begrudgingly, Jacqueline rose to her feet and stretched out her stiff muscles. For a moment, she missed Cynthia; she wouldn’t have minded a spar today. Aside from her travels, she’d been rather inactive lately. The lady dismissed the thought and padded to a more central area of the caverns, eyes and ears alert for anyone to interact with.
Now, what would she be doing today?
