[Tyrell’s at the food of the mountains, near some trees. With Shade I guess???]

Well, Tyrell felt alive. He felt great and amazing and he felt like he could do anything. Excitedly, he jumped around, ran in circles, chasing his own tail, and rolling over the ground. Giggling like an idiot. Ah, it was good to be alive. His moment with Shade had been interesting, and Tyrell had enjoyed it, and he kind of wanted it again? Ah, maybe later.

First, he wanted to hop around and have some fun. There were a few trees around here, and leaves had already started to fall. And damn, there even was a whole pile there! Tyrell knew what he had to do! A grin appeared on his face, and then he jumped. Right for the pile of leaves. And he fell into it, and immediately tried to hide himself, to swim in it.

But, he was not alone in that pile. While he was having a good, fun time, something else did not want him there. Suddenly, Tyrell felt something sharp on his muzzle. And it hurt. ’’YIKES!’’ he screeched, more in surprise than in pain, and jumped out of the pile of leaves.

Looking at his nose, he saw something holding on to him. Was that a goddamn squirrel biting him!? It was! ’’EY! Get off!’’

With autumn came a plethora of new scents. He could recognize many different plants and fought a rising urge to collect and store them for later. He was no longer a pack wolf and no longer needed to keep a steady stock of plants. It was awkward, in a way, and he hadn’t really missed the Alliance until now, now that things were finally feeling normal again. No more bad dreams, less trouble eating (he was finally thickening up!). His willingness to hunt never vanished—not even a little. In fact, he found it very enjoyable. Why he remained apathetic to the poor woodland creatures through all of this remained a mystery, though he wouldn’t question it, as he may revert back to his old feelings toward hunting, and in a weird way he’d like that. But he knew it would do him better to abstain from abstaining from hunting.

The feelings he had for Tyrell were very strong. If he wasn’t staring at the guy, he was thinking about staring at him. And if not that, he was thinking about thinking about staring at him. It’s all he could think about, Tyrell. Where they were going to go next, their next cuddle session.

Oh? Wait, where was Tyrell, anyway? That yell must’ve been his..

Shade bolted toward it, ready to throw himself at anything that might threaten his large friend.

But it was a squirrel.. which, despite the high chance of rabies contraction, was hilarious. Such a small creature causing a big ole’ pupper a hard time.

“A bit embarrassing, wouldn’t you say?”

Off-pawed mockery was a skill he’d picked up at some point in his life.

It was hanging off the top of his muzzle and it annoyed Tyrell greatly. It no longer really hurt, but he felt it sting slightly. It had been more the shock, after all. And of course, Shade had to arrive and see him like this. Tyrell huffed at his comment. Why was the squirrel hanging off of him like a rabied creature?? ’’Care to help met it off? It’s being a brat.’’ Tyrell commented, trying to keep his cool. He was getting annoyed with this animal and this situation.

He could get it off, or he could watch the guy struggle. He’d never seen this before and it was interesting. Ending it so soon may be foolish, as this may be his first and only time to see a squirrel act so brave.

But since Tyrell appeared to be in so much distress, he couldn’t leave the squirrel to pester him. Shade loped over, snapping for the squirrel’s back and giving a quick head shake to disorient the rodent.

Shade came to help him and while Tyrell felt a little embarrassed, he was glad he was being saved from this little monster. The creature got shaken up, and Tyrell shook his head firmly along with Shade’s shaking. It hurt his muzzle, but after a little bit the creature let go, and Tyrell was free. He pulled back and groaned.

’’Damn little shit. We should kill it.’’ he said. Just kill it, and eat it. But to be honest Tyrell wanted to toss it around first before actually killing it. This little bitch deserved torture.

Eventually the squirrel dislodged, at which point Shade continued shaking to jostle the fellow. No need in it running off.

In a quick manner, he placed it on the ground and secured it with a paw. It struggled to free itself, but wasn’t able.

“Hmm.. He banged up your muzzle pretty bad, didn’t he?”

Just kill it?

Shade was holding down the squirrel why it struggled, and Tyrell grumbled, giving the creature a nasty glance. Stupid little thing. Tyrell wiggled his nose. Ew, it hurt. Just a little, but the stinging was enough to annoy him further. ’’Eh, nothing I can’t handle.’’ he said in response to Shade, sighing.

’’Let’s kill him. Easy snack.’’ he added. Even though this squirrel had been feisty, it was down now. And it was not going to get away. Tyrell would not let it. A small creature like that made a mistake attacking a bigger one.

An easy snack indeed. Since when did prey practically walk (or fling themselves, in this case) into their deaths? Maybe they always had, but Shade was too uneducated in the field of hunting to know.

At any rate, minor wound or not, Shade wasn’t about to give up a chance to play doctor on Tyrell.

“He’s all yours, Man.”

All his. Shade did not need to tell him more. He nodded, and moved in close to the create, snapping and taking its head in his mouth. He pilled and shook his head roughly, until the creature’s neck snapped under the force. He snatched the dead animal free, and held it in his jaws. He chewed on it, lightly, and sunk his teeth into it’s flesh.

Tossing it on the ground afterwards, he laid down and started nibbling at it. ’’You don’t want any?’’ he asked. Even while he was annoyed, he was still a gentleman, after all.

Shade watched with a wagging tail as Tyrell did his thing. So hot.

“Mmm, no. Not hungry right now. Just thirsty,” oh so thirsty.

“When you’re done you should probably let me tend to your face.”

Thirsty, huh? ’’We shall look for water then.’’ Tyrell said, but first, he chewed up the squirrel, quickly. He gobbled it up, left the remains, and licked his lips. Getting back to his paws, he shook out his coat and looked at Shade.

His nose wiggled a little. ’’It’s not that bad, but if you wanna.’’ Tyrell did not feel any pain anymore. It was just a bit annoying, and a bit itchy.

The allusion must’ve gone over Tyrell’s head, however he was actually thirsty as well so it didn’t matter much.

The dude could eat. He put the squirrel down fast and Shade had to wonder how he kept from choking on one of the many tiny bones. It would have been a little sickening to watch nearly anyone but Tyrell eat so ravenously.

The squirrel’s attack left little to be tended to in terms of open wounds, but open skin was open skin, and a face injury for a wolf was most definitely a problem given the places they tend to shove their heads.

“Up to you, but I’d hate to see your face rot off from infection.”

Tyrell huffed at the male’s words, and glanced at him. ’’Well then, you do you.’’ he told Shade. If the guy wanted to look at his face and take care of his muzzle, then Tyrell would let him. He was not very bothered by it, but he guessed Shade had a point.

He poked his face forward. ’’Doesn’t look too bad, right? What do you need for it?’’ Maybe they could like- sniff out plants? Tyrell had never really bothered with all that healer-stuff. He didn’t know if Shade needed anything.

‘Or, you could do me,’ he wanted to blurt out. That would be inappropriate and immature, both things that Shade was not.

It all depended on wht grew here, really. No need in going all the way to the bottom of the mountain. There had to be some familiar herb here to clean wounds. The air was thick with pine scent, rosemary, and a conglomeration of minty smells.

“No, nothing serious. Do you smell that minty stuff?”

Minty stuff. Tyrell sniffed, and guessed he smelled it too. ’’Yeah, I do.’’ he responded, and shook out his coat, randomly. ’’What about it? It’s herbs?’’ he asked Shade. Tyrell had no experience with herbs, or what they looked like, how they worked.

He grinned at Shade. ’’Teach me your ways, oh almighty healer.’’ he joked. Because, well, maybe Tyrell ought to do good learning a thing or two? And in the meantime as Shade explained, he could fix up his face.

“No, it’s feces.”

Of course it was, Tyrell. What else smelled like that? “They’re literally everywhere. Look,” he moved to a short, purple-flowered plant with pointed leaves. He had no idea herb hunting was this easy in the mountains.. “This is the minty stuff. Scutellaria. If you put it on your skin it prevents infection.”
