[summons] Calling for Tychus, a day after ‘harbinger’, morning

The wolves were starting to flock to her. First Lapis who had wished to be seated beside her within the ranking system and had yet done nothing to prove her worth; then Tomas who had given her so much information that she was still going over it in her head. She had slept the night prior, thankfully, nevertheless some of the twist and turns had fought her, but needless, she had slain them all. Elliot. She had discovered who Elliot was and he was someone who had not even been something she had even thought of. Her brother who she wished to be dead.

The mere thought of him made her angry, her temper flaring at anything that even mentioned him. But now she knew - was it better to know of it than not to? In her mind, yes. The audacity of the man - what even happened to turn him this way? He was no bother of hers. Daniels were not crazy. They did not take things for granted, they did not proclaim themselves kings and queens. An Empress was something completely different in her mind - it was a leader. Not a queen. Her mother had never been a queen. Neither would she. But a leader? It was something she was aiming for. She would follow her mother.

But Tomas; she would heed his request to train with her true brother. She also needed to tell him what she had found out.

Silently, she crept upon his resting place before looking down at him. Something that never happened. ”Tychus, get up.” Kopec said, emotionlessly.

Tychus twitched awake, a faint snarl appearing briefly on his face as he oriented himself; Kopec was not the only wolf fighting crusades in her dreams.

The expression changed to a more relaxed but irritable growl, and he bared his teeth, tongue positioned disagreeably between his incisors.  Could you not?

She watched as he twitched away, and she almost patiently waited. Key word, almost. As he growled, she did too. She wasn’t playing any games here. So to make that clear she continued to state her presence by talking. ”I spoke to Tomas.” She said slowly, sitting down right in front of him. She would get her point across if he liked it or not. ”I think you need to know what he told me.” She wasn’t leaving anytime soon.

Igbo Black meandering into the caverns. His daughter’s scent had been penetrating the entrance and it under-nerved him. It unbuckled the safety valves of his mind. Nevertheless, the feud between Kopec and him had to end. Tomas brought clarity. Amelia brought a sense of being. The imaginative world Kopec lived in had to end.

The dark wolf moved further with his wisdom of caution.

arriving next round, just entered the caves so you’re decision if Igbo is immediately heard

Disagreeable sister.  Of course she would have no patience for late risers.  He grunted and stretched, still taking his time.  Kopec had spoken to Tomas, who appeared to be maneuvering belatedly into a figure in their lives - but one who knew his place.  Accordingly, he would listen.

Only, he was hearing something else.

His head oriented away from Kopec, watching the entrance.  He wanted it to be Naga.  Amelia.

And then there was another presence. Of course. Annoyance drifted through her body structure at the scent that wafted through the caverns. Could he ever leave them alone? It was like he was obsessed. She watched Tychus move his head towards the entrance, but she did no more than pivot an ear in the direction.

”I know who Elliot is, Tychus.” She said suddenly. ”He is a self-proclaimed king that attacked our mother. His name is Elliot Daniels. He was our brother.” The words fell off her mouth like poison, dripping like honey, strangling like a boa constrictor.

“One knows who he is, but not what he is.” Igbo Black spoke with equal embitterment as he meandered near. His dark amber eyes lingered on the figures of Kopec and Tychus. “And he did more than attack Nima.” The hatred in his voice was not directed at the pups, but the past being that haunted him. The King that ruined and plundered arrogantly at the lives of others.

Igbo could only assume that it was Tomas or Scotch that spoke of Elliot, but what of Elliot was more important. He still did not know how Nima died, or if she was even dead. Igbo certainly believed that if Nima wanted others to know she had died, then that was the final ruling.

Would the pups truly ignore him? Kopec would do so because of her inflexible mind, Tychus would follow because of his nature. Even if Igbo did speak, the words would not be used in his favor. Kopec would manipulate them to send her and siblings off a cliff, or to bleed Igbo dry of what he knew before she authentically discarded him.

Since the incident in the cave, Naga had kept much to herself. Solitude gave her some respite from the reality in which she currently found herself entrenched. There, in the corridors of her mind, she could pretend that things were as they were - Nima, the lurking beast down in the heart of Hellmaw, rested alive and well. Igbo crooned above her, dark and comforting. Tychus, Amelia, and Kopec wrapped her in a cocoon of sibling fur and love. The she-wolf of Igbo smiled down with that pretty face.

Such fantasies engulfed her then until voices bounced off the cave walls. She stirred curiously and rolled onto her feet before winding down the tunnels to find the siblings that were so near. She caught the last couple words of Igbo as she trailed into view, attack Nima? The topic of discussion must be Elliot. The fantasies never lasted long before the truth of the world invaded.

She looked at Igbo. The heated anger of before had gone muted and cold - it wearied the girl to hate. Love sprung more naturally from her depths. Naga came up beside Tychus, eyes filled with question. “What’s going on?”

| a lexo!!!!!!!  hop in when you can, love!

Tychus was not a stupid wolf.  But his mind did not work at the whip-crack speed of those around him.  He had heard conversations about Elliot before, but he had no time to pull them up from the well of his memory before Kopec was speaking again, and Igbo was there - and Naga.

He had not seen her recently.  Sunny sister.  His claws scraped the rock as he leaped up to meet her, jaws snapping artfully around her face.  Stay with us, sister.  We need you as you need us.  For a moment or two, he ignored the snap-crackle of Igbo and Kopec behind him, and gave his attention simply to rifling his nose through Naga’s fur and leaning against her.  She smelled like cave.  She smelled sad.

But she asked him, what is going on.  And what went on was some talk of Elliot.  The big strange wolf who he and Igbo had lied to, that was where he’d last heard of Elliot.  Igbo had said something artful about why he was an enemy.  He circled to face the group again, coming around behind Naga to lean against her, shoulder to shoulder.

Elliot…Daniels.  Who, he knew, had done something worse than attack their mother.

Was this a joke?

There was silence in the beginning. And then there was that voice that was everpresent in her life that she couldn’t decide to hate or be thankful for being a protector. Of course, the protector seemed far more involved with children he didn’t breed, unlike his true blood. She didn’t hate Igbo anymore, she was just beginning to understand and accept his natural presence in the Empire. No matter how awfully annoying it was. In some cases that she didn’t want to bubble up in her head, was that he was an excellent father figure; her stubborn nature quickly blocked it out and crumbled it up and tossed it in the trash. But no one would ever throw it out.

It was always there, lingering in her mind, but she did not want to see it for what it was.

Suddenly, there was another voice and a look of surprise crossed her face. Naga. She had grown up just like the rest of them and resembled her mother in more ways than one. After revealing the information, Naga had taken an awful hit on it and while Kopec wanted her sister to work through it and become stronger, she couldn’t have helped to worry about her at night. So she watched with a softness held only for her siblings and got up from her seated position.

Crossing the small distance, she dipped her head beneath Naga’s chin before nuzzling her deeply, closing her eyes in the process. “I missed you,” She said softly, dedicated for only Naga. Her beautiful, kind sister. The sister who she wanted to learn from but never had the chance to. The affection only seemed natural, and her chains broke from her walls and the girl poured her heart out to her. But just like that, she bit her lip and pulled herself away. A sad, small smile pursuing her face. Kopec needed to be strong for them, affection was Naga and Amelia’s job. Not hers. But hell, she would’ve been lying if she didn’t love it when she got it.

Perhaps it was a sensation that she craved, one that would never fall. A side of herself she would only permit her siblings to see; a peak in the past of someone she had been.

“One knows who he is, but not what he is. He did more than attack Nima.” There was a tone in his voice that she had never heard before and she stared back at him from behind her, before turning back around to face him. Sitting beside her brother and sister, she narrowed her eyes slightly. “He is a monster, he impregnated multiple females and kept them hostage so that Daniels would be the only name you ever heard.” Right?

Igbo Black J

Igbo Black had slunk into the Hellmaw Caverns with a larger than life chip on his shoulder. It hissed into his ears, pulled his lips into a heavy frown and pinched his brows. Of course he would be anger Kopec knew of Elliot. What did that mean for her and her actions? What did that mean for how she would treat others? What of her own future?

Naga’s entrance broke the heavy weight upon Igbo. Tychus’ gentle touch and Kopec’s hesitance clashed in front of his face as punishment for how he had been acting: tough and brutal against children. Children he had seen nursing at the breast. Children he squished and cuddled with.

“Yes, Kopec..” Igbo hated the distaste in his own voice and tried to sway from it. “He was your half-brother.” He gathered looked at the children pensively, before releasing a sigh. “There is more to the experience of who Elliot is and what he did, but I have wished for all of you to not carry such a burden. It is important to know the flaws of the past, but one did not want to have the weight of the world upon your shoulders young or old.” Naga. Tychus. Kopec. Amelia knew only a little bit.

Puppish smile lifted her triangular features as the potentially fatal teeth of the behemoth snipped playfully against the fluff of her cheeks. Tychus. The great boulder that each of the sisters leaned upon. The singular brother. But now he leaned upon her with that great, comforting weight and she leaned right back.

Kopec spoke the words aloud that Tychus had demonstrated silently - they had missed her. Of course, they did. The mountain needed all four of Nima’s children to fan the flames of a dying Empire and their own feeble hearts. With Kopec’s determination, the embers of the Empire would never be allowed to fizzle out. And Naga would be at her side every step of the way. She looked deeply into the dark sister’s pure yellow irises as she drew away with her own fierce amber ones. I’m with you, they said.

As she listened pensively to the story being told, a more clear picture was being painted of this Elliot. A half-brother. And the little ones he fathered? Also Daniels? There was more of their blood bumbling around in the world, and they were only just beginning to comprehend this.

Family was everything. But Elliot had been the traitor and liar their mother was speaking of when she first instilled that notion into them, she was sure. The youthful mind struggled to make sense of this. Brows furrowed upon that triangular face. “And the young. They are family? Alive somewhere?” she puzzled aloud. Did they not belong on the mountain, then? Among the true Daniels?

All of this was sailing over Tychus’s head, passing low enough to thump him between the eyes on its way out.

Elliot Daniels.  Halfbrother.

Something lodged in his throat as he began to realize Mother had gone to murder Elliot Daniels Halfbrother, brother like Tychus was brother, how could there be some other little Nimatodes down there and why why why would Mother kill them?  Why had she died doing it?  Why did all this horror wait for them down in the valley and destroy the thing they needed most?

He stood bristling, flanked by his enormous sisters.  Daniels, halfbrother, and Mother left them all for him, the impregnator, the evil monster who was also exactly as they were, a golden little Daniels.  He felt that he was falling inside out.

So he stopped.  And stared rigidly at the rocks where he used to climb and hide, now hilariously small.  Stared, breathed shallow, and focused on a solitary journey into the dark, worming into the teeth of the mountain.  He could nearly conjure it.

The loyalty that was instilled within Naga’s eyes were not brushed away; it was something that was shared solely between the two sisters, a bond that could never be torn away for they had suckled at the same breast. They had been birthed from the same womb - the three of them. Kopec breathed out silently, before letting her eyes fall from her sisters before turning towards Igbo. She sat beside Naga and rubbed her head next to hers, a display of affection so rarely seen from the girl.

Her siblings held the key to her heart.

Wished not to carry the burden? They had been carrying the burden of continuing their mothers work since day one, so many things that he ought to have said differently that wouldn’t agitate the girl. But she needed to harness the flame within her, and she understood this, so she let her eyes fall towards Tychus, just as he stood up, bristled like an angry cat and stared at the wall in front of him. Kopec watched him with intensity. ”Proceed with caution,” She mused softly, towards Igbo before pointing her nose towards Tychus.

At the sound of Naga’s voice, she turned an ear to Igbo, never letting Tychus out of her sight. She was ready to stop him if he chose to do anything stupid - he was strong and unpredictable and that’s what made him a deadly foe if it turned to be the case.

”If they are family, it’d be pleasant to meet them. Daniels are Daniels, no matter who their father is.” Slowly, her eyes traversed back to Igbo.
