The Empress paced about the area. Her thick white fur made it unbearable in this heat. She sat down and began to groom herself. She assumed this was the place Ruby told her about, the place where Damien was at. After grooming herself, she smelled the breeze. Alexia smelled border markers and immediately knew that there was a pack here. She decided to howl so then she could let them know her location, hoping she wouldn’t be met with hostility. Though, Ruby said that this pack should help her find her children.

If they were alive.

She hoped that her children were alive, she hoped that they weren’t hurt. Alexia shuffled the earth with her paws. Her eyes looked around the land. She prayed that she would receive help and not be turned away and told to go somewhere else.

Really short opening post

The little girl knew she shouldn’t have, but the summons that went out ovr the air was almost too much. The howl of a foreign wolf, after the conversation with her father, had her mind scurrying. She found herself creeping low, toward the sound, but she didn’t know what she was going to do.

Well, she had some idea. While she wanted to be near, she hesitated over the action of even going to see what the wolf looked like. She was not a disobedient child. But with the judgment, the imbalance of good, bad, and Gods - she couldn’t help it.

Taking a breath, her nose twitched. An adult would appear. She knew they would. Then she could assess whether or not she could join in based on who it was.

Moving through the grass, she moved toward the borders, but stuck close to the trees. Looking out, pausing only when she saw a white figure in the distance.

Probably a round out, likely not going to approach :) Another wolf will hopefully answer!

Keeping it vague just in case an adult wolf shows up.

Her eyes glanced around. Nobody had replied or had come to her howl. She didn’t smell anybody either, she shuffled at the ground again. Worry spread throughout her body, she hoped that if the wolf named Damien came. She hoped that she would be able to find her children.

She might have been the size of some of the smaller grownups in the pack, but Wrenn wasn’t one yet. Huffing at the rules that prevented her going right down to meet the woman she could see at the borders, she joined Eira instead, crouching down in the long, somewhat dried out grass.

A low grumble emitted as she did, though with a welcoming nuzzle directed at her cousin. “This is so stupid Eira. I could go find out what that woman wants.” She popped her head up to view the white wolf. “She doesn’t look bad.”

Ah, spoken with all the naive bliss of a child. A bad wolf would have a flashing neon sign pointing at them, no?

((Also a round away with Eira!))

She wasn’t going to go when she heard the call. Curiosity won over what it was about won out and Willow soon found herself making her way toward the border. She knew it was against the rules that uncle Damien had set but how could he expect her not to go.

When she reached the edge of the trees she could see the white figure of a wolf in the distance. She paused not wanting to go any further in case an adult showed up and she got in trouble.

A very familiar voice reached her ears, Willow shook her head. She should have known her twin would be there. The blonde girl moved to join her cousin and sister, “You will not go down there,” she said firmly. Willow didn’t want Wrenn to get in trouble.

Safira was once again, out and about, pacing throughout the Northern Realm’s borders as she thought. She’d mark them here and there, knowing fully well that wanderers could be amiss—but truthfully, Safira just wanted a moment to herself for a few minutes of the day—and border patrolling gave her just that.

A moment alone.

A moment of silence with her own thoughts.

And it had been lovely for a bit, but of course, good things never do last—and Safira was quick to hear the sound of a call coming from not very far.

Her ears had immediately turned and she had been quick to bound in that direction. And it hadn’t taken very long before the sight of a white body formed at the horizon. The pups, however, completely hidden from her view. Safira moved with quiet paws, much like the shadow that she looked like, and before long she stood merely a few feet away from the stranger; her sea-like gaze watching the girl with cryptic emotion. “Hello.” She started, her tail lightly swaying with the gentle breeze. “Can I help you?” Her body was friendly in posture, but no doubt was Safira ready for action if the situation called for it.

(( HELLO QUICK POST FOR A QUICK POP IN!!! ))

Ears swayed on her head, unsurprised as her louder cousin came up alongside her. Blinking in surprise, she found herself almost equally disappointed. But it wasn’t boldness of wanting to be able to greet, it was more or less the curiosity of what balance the new wolf would fall on. The only way she was going to learn first hand about the things Pabbi had told her was through doing it.

Eyes turned, and she offered a faint smile. “Pabbi’s rules.” The reminder was dry, although there was a wedge of disapproval. She sat up some, though, spying the approach of Safira - it brought her shoulders down faintly, fighting the urge to run along and join. Her paws massaged the ground.

It was… rule-abiding, wasn’t it?

We can go close,” She parroted reasonably, already drifting toward her mother’s best friend. She knew her cousins would follow, at least they would attempt to do so if they were being eaten alive with curiosity just like she was.

Saf’s okay.” The echo of what had been spoken by her sister.

“I’m looking for a wolf named Damien, I heard from somebody named Ruby that he would be able to help me find my pups.” She said to the female. Looking around, Alexia thought she had heard voices of children, Must be my imagination, She said to herself. She hoped that this woman would help her or at least tell her where Damien was at.

She looked around, smelled the air, and realized there were more wolves here. She assumed that they were hiding and thought that it wasn’t safe to come out, she didn’t care though. Alexia was just focused on the female that came and greeted her.

Willowed joined them as well, with a warning about going down there. But Safira arrived at the borders so Wrenn pulled an impudent face at her twin. “Now I’m going down. You coming?” She bounded past Eira with a wuff of challenging play, then broke into a run, skidding clumsily up beside Safira but managing not to fall over her massive paws. She hadn’t arrived in enough time to overhead what the white wolf wanted so she important arranged herself in a mimicry of how Safira stood, friendly but watchful. She didn’t quite have the dark woman’s gaze down, though, and her golden one was somewhat guileless as she grinned breathlessly at the white wolf.

Safira’s arrival to greet the white wolf changed the situation for the pups. Why couldn’t they go down there since there was an adult? It seemed her sister and cousin had the same sentiments. “I’m coming,” she told her twin. Cousin Eira even said they could go close. Willow followed down behind Wrenn before coming to stand next to her. She hadn’t heard why the white wolf was there but her expression remained inquisitive.

(( leaving this a lil vague cause the pack meeting thread hasn’t completely finished ))

It hadn’t taken long for a slew of puppies to tumble out of the vegetation of the mountains, their multicolored furs starkly apparent from the corner of her eye. They had been lurking, sneaky little things, and although it was partly against the rules (for their own safety) to be at the borders—they had been smart and waited for Safira to enter the scene.

Something straight out of one of her books, if she was being honest.

And while, perhaps, Safira had some opinions on the matter of them being there, she merely acknowledged their presence with a smile. Lessons could be taught on a different day and time and certainly not when a stranger was lurking about.

Not to mention, hopefully if anything turned south—they’d be smart enough to run while she took care of any matters at hand. Although three puppies were a lot of hard work;  hopefully, it didn’t come to that.

Safira kept her attention trained on the blonde adult, listening as she spoke but keeping a trained eye on the pups who found their way beside her.

The stranger was looking for Damien. Because a wolf named Ruby told her to. She wasn’t exactly sure how Damien or anyone else could help, but she played along for the time being.

She allowed her expression to soften as her head dipped in a nod, acknowledging the woman’s troubles. “Damien is our Chief here at the Northern Realm. May I ask what your pups look like? Or where you’ve last seen them?” She kept a polite manner to her words, keeping her normal personality and sharpness at bay (clearly no one liked that, for obvious reasons). And it wasn’t great to scare off the locals, anyway.

Drifting down toward the older female, she almost found herself grimacing as Wrenn blew by her. It was a personality trait that Eira couldn’t even begin to grasp. While she was almost two months behind the older siblings, she couldn’t help but feel that same sharpness that most of her own siblings had.

That they were going to be better, give a more improved performance. That they would make Mama and Pabbi proud. It was all she could hope for, to become better and faster. To show what it meant to be an Aderly.

Her head straightened, and her tail swung out as she drew much more slowly to a halt somewhere behind the group. She heard Safira’s words, and she nodded her head faintly in approval. Safira had the right words, she had a way of speaking that Eira appreciated. It was to the point. It reminded her, in many ways, of what Mama had sounded like.

Nose flared faintly, and she observed the white woman with a faintly bemused expression. Lost pups? Wasn’t she very good at setting rules? Did that make her a bad mother, a bad leader - if she couldn’t even look after her family?

”They are yearlings, one with pale grey fur one with cream fur like me.” She told the darker female, ”They left me about four months ago, they were too young to leave me. Most wolves leave their parents at two years of age,” She finished.

Unless you come from royal bloodlines, then you get sent off at any age to who knows where. She remarked. She had said that they were too young just to hide the fact that she was an Empress. A Dowager Empress to be exact, the title ‘dowager’ was often used for much older female widows with great wealth or Royal blood coursing through their veins. Yet, Alexia used the title for herself to say that her husband was deceased.

She looked towards the pups that were rushing down from their hiding spot. Alexia shot them a grin, one of the pups seemed to be slowing down. She looked almost like a fox that Alexia had seen during her days in Onartrahka. Though, the little girl was a wolf.

She turned her focus back to the dark female that way trying to help her and hoped she could consult Damien.

((Sorry guys Horizion ate my first post here!))

Oh yay, Willow and cousin Eira came with her! Wrenn smiled back at Safira, more that ready to behave herself for an adult that showed her some understanding. The white lady wanted to see her uncle because her puppies were missing! That made sense. Uncle Damien was super smart. He could definitely help! But wooooah two years was SO OLD. Wrenn simply didn’t think time would EVER pass quickly enough for her to turn two! Not that she wanted to leave her mother. Who would want to do that? This was confusing.

But the lady then smiled at the puppies, and Wrenn wagged her readily and grinned right back. “Sorry bout your puppies. My name’s Wrenn and this is my sister Willow and our cousin Eira.” There. Her mother would be pleased she remembered her manners!

Of course Wrenn then went and ruined things by asking a question some wolves might have called rude. “How come your puppies left if they were too little to?”
