Yuna was a well-practiced pro at navigating on the beach, but even pros slipped up, and she had managed to slip on a wet rock and slice open the bottom of her pawpad on a sharp barnacle the previous day. A brisk wash in salt water hadn’t helped and Yuna was now very carefully chewing up a mouthful of marigold and iris flowers she’d collected the past few weeks to aid in healing, storing them in an out-of-the-way alcove on the opposite side of the caverns to where she could smell Astrid had her stash. She wondered where she was, and when she’d finally get a chance to meet her. She was concerned about stepping on the leaning healer’s toes, and so she had left a wide berth around spots she thought Astrid may have used.
She’d told Tidus not to fuss over her and sent him out to hunt and explore, thinking that would keep his mind off worrying about a silly cut on her paw because just sometimes, he had a tendency to be a touch overprotective. But now she found herself alone in the caverns, confined inside on such a lovely day, she missed him terribly, and company in general now she had adjusted to the social aspect of the beach, and she paused in chewing up her flowers to gaze out the entrance with a sigh.
