His world was vaugely tinged grey. Blood drooled from his coat, splattering against the sand. But his bloodshot blue eyes only stared at the sea. It’s rolling surface, the one Yuna loved with all of her heart. The part of him that was still rational after the rest had cracked and splintered into madness laughed.
Tidus stumbled. And he almost didn’t get back up. But he managed it, stumbling towards the sea like a walking corpse. Well..thats mostly what he was. Being gored by a bull caribou he was foolish enough to try and take down by himself wasn’t great. He wasn’t sure how he managed to get here, multiple spans of his memory being washed away like sand on the beach.
And his legs stopped working, just as he was getting to the sea. He wanted to sob, to cry out loudly for just comfort from someone. Tidus had never been a brave wolf and this was no different. He would die as he lived.
A coward til the end, it seemed.
He didn’t want to die. Death scared him. He had family. He had friends. He had just wanted to look like a good mate and father. Like Yuna told him.
Water splashed over his muzzle, making him blink almost sleepily, before a small smile crossed his face. The ocean accepted him. It welcomed him home. A sense of peace settled over him.
Something reassured him. He had been good.
“I’m sorry. ” He whispered to the wind. He wouldn’t die surrounded by family. But, as he lay here, the tide lapping at him as if to pull him into the sea.
His eyes closed, and his last sensation was the sea splattering against his muzzle and the wind tugging his fur.
Exit good boy you had a good life ;-;
