The Kingdom

history

"Convinced that he'd be able to start his own kingdom from scratch, {Elliot} left his natal pack. To prove to both himself and his mother, {Nima}, that he was capable of following through with such a task, Elliot began to recruit wolves. The moment he stumbled upon the butte, he knew that it would be the territory he'd grow his kingdom on. Its resemblance to his homeland convinced him that it was fit for him and his future. And, he hoped, even the future of his mysterious gem, Eden, — whom he'd promised to build a kingdom for.

Wolves came and went, never sticking to their promises, and for a long while, his efforts were futile. Elliot was finally able to get the ball rolling after his reunion with Nima and {Sikozu}'s return. Nima was quick to gain {Idemoni}'s trust and before long, the four set the base for the kingdom."

Information

Values and inner workings

Devotion and power
  • Subordinates are expected to show respect for their superiors. Slighting of authority figures and/or failure to follow through with orders may result in permanent exile.
  • All members must be strong enough to take care of themselves. Although the military will work hard to provide food for the pack, each member's survival should not be dependent on the work of others.
  • Only the king and queen are permitted to accept new members into the pack.
  • Weakness is frowned upon. Examples of this include, but are not limited to: physical or cognitive disabilities, cowardice, and vulnerability.
  • More often than not, general group ranking is set in stone. Only Nobility and Military may switch to the other group if permission is granted. Performing tasks outside of one's role is considered illegal.
  • Members can only be born into royalty.
  • Ridding the world of weak, rude, and otherwise unworthy wolves is one of the kingdom's main goals. Resorting to violence to achieve this goal is preferred.
  • Leaving the territory without consulting the King and/or Queen may result in permanent exile for demonstrating wavering loyalty.

Hierarchy

I. King — He and the queen jointly command the kingdom, as well as oversee the activities of its members. Individuals interested in becoming a part of the kingdom must seek permission from either the king or queen to officialize their ranks. Both king and queen are responsible for deciding consequences for broken rules.

Individuals interested in becoming a part of the kingdom must seek permission from either the king or queen to officialize their ranks. Both king and queen are responsible for deciding consequences for broken rules.

II. Prince — He has the same role as a Knight until he becomes King. Before the prince is fully-trained in fight, knights have power over him. A Prince or Princess will be hand-picked by the current King and Queen to fill their seats after they have passed. If the Prince or Princess has a mate when they reach the throne, they may crown their mate as King/Queen. However, if they do not have a mate at the time of throning, the new King/Queen is expected to choose a sibling of theirs to rule alongside them.

III. Lord — Expected to lead group hunts as well as any fights against strangers or other packs. They serve to advise the King and Queen and report any important information. The Lord is the most skilled fighter and also one of the most loyal members of the kingdom.

III. First Apothecary — Superior to the Apothecaries, the First Apothecary is in charge of making sure all members are healthy. The defining difference is that she has seniority over the rest, and therefore deserves respect.

IV. Knight — Strong members of the pack that hunt and patrol. They are expected to train Squires and Princes/Princesses. When meeting a stranger at the borders, they are to assess whether the wolf is worth recruiting or eliminating. Knights switch off patrolling throughout the day; there is always someone patrolling the borders, even at night.

V. Squire — Usually the youngest members of the pack and don't know how to fight. In other words, they are rising Knights. Squires acompany Knights in patrols and hunts to learn from them.

V. Apothecary — The healer of the kingdom. They aren't expected to fight, in fact, it's much preferred that they don't. The longer the apothecary lives, the better. Apothecaries are the only members allowed to frequently leave the kingdom, but only to search for herbs.

V. Midwife — Looks after expecting females during pregnancy and assists in delivering their puppies. They help look after the newborns until mothers are able to care for them on their own. Midwives may know of some herbs but aren't as proficient in herbalism as apothecaries.

V. Commoner — They are expected to help hunt for the pack and/or help the apothecary gather herbs. Commoners are considered to be the Middle-Class; Low-Class being the rogues and members of packs. Orders from any rank above them are meant to be followed.
